Dear Fellow Rotarians:

Well it’s hard to believe, I looked up my newsletter messages and I have now come full circle.  My first one was June 2017 and now my last one for June 2018.

It has been a crazy year, definitely not the norm with everything going on for our East Side Rotary Clubs, to say we are going out with a bang is to put it lightly.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve as your President this past year.  I especially want to thank my Board.  Mary Kay Rovelstad (Secretary), Adam Reugh (President Elect) and Eric Curtis (Treasurer).  And, then there are all of you serving on our various committees giving your much valuable time and experience to your club.  Thank you all so much.

I am so proud of what we accomplished.  Voted First Place in a medium size club for Youth Services, how can we thank Chris Leinenweber for his outstanding service?  Also, our most important prize was the Governor’s District Citation Award.  Which means we pretty much covered everything our DG asked us to do, special having a fundraiser just for Polio Plus was a crucial one for this award, and I thank you all who helped make it happen.  This includes our “Pennies for Polio” that raised over $200.00 this year, thank you.

And, let us not forget our representation to our sister club in Japan’s 50th Anniversary Gala.  This group attended at their own expense to represent our club.  There will be a special presentation of their trip at our June 4 meeting, this should be exciting.

Remember the installation party is on Saturday, June 23rd at the Hiranaka’s (what would we do without them) so sign up and/or email Donna and let her know if you are going to be able to attend.

As I review my message I see that I have said “thank you” quite a few times, but it doesn’t seem like enough, so from the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank you all again.

As always,
Laura
