As a Rotary Exchange Student in our club for the past year, Fiore communicated her progression from homesickness to a feeling of total involvement in Rotary and the community. She thanked the club for all the new experiences, such as a plane ride to Vancouver and canoeing for the first time. She's looking forward to seeing a bear on her upcoming B.C. trip. Her highlight of the past year was meeting and becoming friends with all the other exchange students. When asked about her favourite food she was emphatic about "not curry", but settled on Georalynn's steak. We all laughed at her anecdeote about inadvertently sending wrong signals due to her initial unawareness of colloquialisms. Fiore's family (Gabriella, Luciana and Ili from Italy) were in attendance at our June 27, 2018 Rotary lunch meeting at Pebbles Restaurant in Sechelt, B.C. She is very proud that she will graduate with the Grade 12 Chatelech Secondary class tonight, along with our longtime Rotary daughter Anika. Fiore is only the second of our exchange students to achieve this goal, and she hopes to register for university in Italy.
