Tour participants to provide own transportation to the Board of Water Supply’s (BWS) Hālawa Shaft and Underground Pumping Station located at 99-1268 Iwaena Street in Hālawa Valley’s Central Park Industrial Area.
This one-hour tour will include an introduction to O‘ahu’s water cycle, a historical overview of the facility and underground tour of one of the largest water sources for Honolulu’s Primary Urban Core.
Dress code for Hālawa: Casual comfortable attire with covered footwear. Long pants are recommended, no skirts, please. No slippers, open-toed sandals, bare feet or high-heeled shoes.

BWS’ security requirements are:
- Each adult (age 18+) accompanying the group must submit full name, home address (no P.O. boxes), phone number and e-mail address as a required condition of tour.*

- On tour day, all adult tour members are required to:
- submit a completed Compliance Form; and,
- be in possession of a valid photo identification card.
- Back packs, large bags, camera bags, etc. will not be allowed into facility buildings/structures. Items that must be carried (such as purses or fanny packs) are subject to inspection.
- Picture taking is permitted but may be restricted subject to BWS facility security guidelines.
