The Senior Food Boxes (Commodity Supplemental Food Program or CSFP) works to improve the health of low-income seniors (at least 60 years of age) by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. The boxes are comprised of supplemental foods including nonfat dry milk/ or ultra-high temperature (UHT) fluid milk, cheese, cereal, juice, peanut butter, rice or pasta, canned meat, canned fruits and vegetables. Volunteers are needed to help with packing 2,300 boxes in an assembly line style operation outside in our warehouse parking lot, 2611 Kilihau St., from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers must be able to stand, bend, perform repetitive movements, and lift (boxes weigh over 30 lbs, but most volunteers will not be lifting more than a couple cans at a time). Volunteers must be 16 years or older to participate.
