Hello !,

Summer is almost over! It seems that every year is shorter and that the summer lasts just a few days.

Last week we were honored to have Judge Tom Greenholtz from the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals share light on the workings and methodology of the court system. Fortunately, most of us don’t have personal knowledge of the process but I am sure many of you found his presentation entertaining while being educational. As Rotarians our goal is Service Above Self and that mission can impact our community in multiple ways. Making a difference in the lives of some of the marginalized people in our footprint, by improving education, food distribution to those that need help, these are a couple things that can all help those that are at risk of engaging in activities that might result in incarceration or punishment.

August is officially membership month but in reality, every month is membership month. Why is membership retention and growth so important? The only way to honor our motto Service Above Self is if we have engaged members. In our businesses, relationships or Rotary Club, the old adage, “you are either growing or dying, you are never standing still”, is true.

Each of us probably joined Rotary for a different reason but we all share a common goal, to do good for others. The only way we can be more affective is if we are a vibrant and engaged club and that means growing, not only in membership and attracting more individuals that share our vision of service but growing together as a Rotary family.

Over the next few weeks we will be discussing how can we increase our impact as a team of people who are all United for Good.

Think about who you can invite to visit our club, people who already have a mindset of service. Your membership committee is working on different ways we can make it easier to tell our Rotary story which will in turn attract those who want to be part of the Rotary Family!

Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
