Dear Rotarian,

I hope your week is off to a good start.  We had wonderful weather this past weekend - I hope you were able to enjoy it!

Last week you got to hear from my friends Rich Carpenter and Matt Anderson of EPB as they explained a little bit about EPB Fiber Optics and some of the changes going on in the video world.  I trust you learned something.  If you have any follow-up questions for them please let me know and I'll get you an answer.

This week we'll hear from Patty Wills.  She will be talking to us about a scholarship program for children in Mexico and how our club can join with a local Rotary Club to help the children of their community.

Some of you have asked how Rotary is getting involved with the crisis in Eastern Europe.  You should have received an email recently from Rotary Trustee Chair, John Germ regarding how you can help the people of Ukraine.  Just in case you did not receive it I wanted to pass along the information for anyone wishing to help.

Rotary is made up of people of action, especially in difficult times. In response to the deepening refugee crisis, The Rotary Foundation Trustees have decided to prioritize contributions made to the Disaster Response Fund until 30 April 2022 to support disaster response grants for districts affected by these events. These expedited disaster response grants can be used to supply water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing.  You can click the link below to donate.

Our Membership Contest ended last week with a three-way tie for first place.  Thank you to all who participated and congratulations to Dale Rardin, Johnny Rogers and Dr. Steve Ball who each sponsored a new member.  Just because the contest has ended you don't have to stop inviting friends to Rotary.  Keep them coming!!

I hope to see you Wednesday at our meeting, but if you need to join by Zoom here is the meeting link.  If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Chris Neighbors or President Jim Glass of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
