Dear Rotarian,

Last week Dr. Bill Johnson from the Bradley Sunrise Rotary Club spoke to our club about the work they are doing in Honduras supporting clean water initiatives and providing scholarships for children to attend school.  Afterwards, our Board approved funding for one scholarship for a child to attend school in Honduras. (Schools in Honduras require that a student have two uniforms, shoes, and a backpack to attend school and these requirements often prevent children living in extreme poverty from attending.)   As a reminder, being able to help with needs like these is a direct result of our fundraising efforts through our golf tournament; so please secure a hole sponsor or major sponsor if you haven't done so already.

We inducted our newest member Jennifer Fritts to our club on Wednesday. Jennifer joins us in the classification of Education - Public Universities.  Please introduce yourself to Jennifer at our next meeting.

This week we will be honoring area teachers during our Influential Educators Awards day.  Stephen Pike and Brigitte Thurman have worked hard to put this fantastic program together again this year.

***Remember, we will be meeting in a new meeting space in Metro Tab Church beginning this Wednesday. Please enter through the front doors of the church.

Please plan to join us this week.  If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.

Meeting ID: 830 3025 5424.  Passcode: 685 432

See you Wednesday!

Warm regards,

Betsy Gibson
