Dear Rotarian,

Hope you had lots of Treats and no Tricks for Halloween at your house.  It was great to see so many children running from door to door again in our neighborhood  - we had such a large number of children visit our house that we only had one candy bar left when the night was over!

Wanted to mention something to you that you may not have heard about - The Chattanooga Breakfast Club is selling BBQ for their annual fundraiser.  If you would like to purchase some or make a contribution to the Community Kitchen please visit the website below.  November 8 is the last day to purchase.

Last week in our meeting, City Councilwoman Demetrus Coonrod challenged us to look for ways to reduce the violence in our community.  This is a real struggle for our area and so many across America.  I was encouraged by her desire to hear suggestions from us rather than promote her own ideas.  I appreciated the comments and questions that many of you had for her to consider.

This week we will have the opportunity to hear from Linda Moss Mines, a Chattanooga Historian,.  Her topic is " Proud to be a Chattanoogan -  Five Historical Facts Every Citizen Should Know".  This should be a fun time and we should all walk away knowing something new about our great city.

I hope all of you can join in person, but if you need to join by Zoom here is the meeting link.  If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.
