I hope you enjoyed hearing from Cyndy Waters, Founder & Director of The Orbit Village Project this week. She is an inspiration and has shown how collaboration with Rotary has changed the lives of many people in Kenya, and East Africa. I truly hope our Club can be included with the other Clubs that have helped. Not only does helping this organization include the Avenues of Rotary Service but also all seven of our Areas of Focus! Please show your support!
This coming Wednesday we will be hearing from Jeff Romine, who works with the Georgia Department of Safety who will be speaking about the dangers of Lithium Ion batteries. As a former Safety Director for a large restaurant company, I'm excited to hear what he has to say!
Next week we begin our Youth Month with a visit from Jay Fowler, the Multi-Area Director for FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, who has served with them for over 25 years and has overseen programs in more than 75 schools in five Tennessee counties. You're not going to want to miss Jay speak!
Just a reminder that there will be a Community Service Committee meeting immediately after our meeting Wednesday. Speaking of Community Service, we will be having our next Food Drive in September and we need as many members as possible to partner with a business, school, church, HOA, etc. Help us have a location and we'll handle the box distribution and pick up! The Food Drive benefits the Chattanooga Food Bank and will run from September 14th to September 25th. The goal is 20,000 meals, let's make it happen!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and thank you for putting Service Above Self! If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
