Hard to believe the year is already half over! Time sure flies when you are busy. This past week had the thrill of attending the Rotary International Convention in Calgary, Alberta. It started off with a spectacle of the parade of flags from the 200 countries that Rotary has a presence in. A welcome from the mayor of Calgary where she offered a humorous apology for the rain we experienced the first couple of days (normally they are dry).

The city of Calgary went all out to accommodate Rotarians, with free public transport and banners all over downtown with Rotary’s current theme “Unite for Good” on them. There were 16,000 in attendance and crazy to think that sometimes there have been as many as 40k! It was inspiring to hear what other Rotarians and their clubs are doing to promote peace, build better friendships in their communities and how they are raising money for the causes they support.

I am looking forward to what we as a club can accomplish this coming year. See you this coming Wednesday.  Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
