Terry Hart, President & CEO of the Chattanooga Airport Authority was our featured speaker last week.
A lot is happening at our airport: passenger boardings soared to 352,000 in 2014 and they’re on track with an estimated 400,000 boardings for 2015.
The primary focus this year has been in parking lot improvements. Customer parking at the commercial terminal has been expanded, starting with the demolition of an aging hangar and the addition of 300 spots. In addition to the new parking lot, customers will see several changes to the existing parking lots including covered walkways and more reliable payment equipment at the exit gates, including a mobile payment option and shuttles to the main terminal. There is even talk about a new valet service where customers could drop of their car at the terminal and enjoy curbside pickup upon arrival. The airport’s goal is to create a better overall parking experience for customers this year.
There have been many improvements inside of the terminal as well including upgraded restrooms and a great food area and lounge.

Looking Ahead
Jim Roxlo, Rotarian extraordinaire will be our featured speaker this week. Jim is a long-term member of the breakfast club and an expert in all things “Rotary.”
Jim also is heading up the impending trip to Haiti to oversee our international latrine project. He’ll give us an overview of the purpose and goals of the trip. It looks like president-elect Ed Lawrence and new member Justin Porter will be joining Jim on this trip to Haiti.
I’ve also asked Jim to give a demonstration on the process of giving and receiving monies at the local, district, zone, national and international levels. I’ve been a member for 8 years and it still is a little confusing to me.
