Dear Rotarian,

Because we all have a tendency to skim through e-mails, I am going to address a difficult topic right at the start. We have quite a few members who are late in making their required dues payments. Kari works hard to get the quarterly dues notices out to the membership, so we simply ask that you make the payment within 30 days of the receipt of the bill. If you are not current in your membership dues, please get caught up with your payments.

Sorry to open with that comment, but it needed to be said. On a much more positive note, last week's meeting in support of our area law enforcement personnel was excellent. I had the chance to speak with Sherriff Garrett after what had been an extremely difficult week, and his passion and dedication to his craft and his people was very apparent in that conversation. Also, a big thank you to Pam Garrett for all of her work in putting the meeting together.

During February and March, we will be having a membership drive, with an emphasis on bringing new guests to our last meeting of the month. Alan Johnston passed out materials this past week, and he will have more updates on this challenge throughout the month of February.

Speaking of new members, one of our newest members, Ken Hartley will be bringing our program this week, with an emphasis on human behavior.

Looking ahead, February 14 will be our Valentine's Day program, so please invite your spouse or significant other (and let Kari or me know if they are coming - as mentioned, unless you expect your spouse to be a candidate for Rotary membership, you will need to pay for his or her meal).

Please plan to join us this week. If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.
