Dear Rotarian,

Can you believe August is already here?!?! Seems like the summer just got started and teachers and students are getting ready for school to start.

Speaking of school.... we had a great day at Bess T. Shepherd Elementary yesterday! The weeds are gone, the mulch is in place and the entrance and courtyard have been pressure washed. Thank you to all that participated in "Serving to Change Lives". We had a good group and the work was done very quickly. Thank you Stan for organizing this for our club.

Last Wednesday we got to hear about some of the activities at Oak Ridge National Lab as well as learn a little bit about Cyber Threats. Dr. Peter Fuhr told us about a few of the projects in which he has been involved - including 3D Printing a house! Hope you all aren't completely afraid to use the internet after hearing about some of the nefarious activity on the web.

This week we'll hear from Steve Freer of the Tennessee Valley Railroad. Should be a fun time to hear about the museum and the different attractions of the TV Railroad.

We plan to be back in our normal meeting location. Thank you Dr. Steve Ball for arranging our temporary meeting location while our normal room was being remodeled.

Have a great week!

Jim Glass
21-22 Club President
