Dear Rotarian,

How many of you now know more about Geocaching from last week's program than you did previously?  For those of you who missed the meeting, the definition of Geocaching is a high tech world -wide treasure hunt using multi-million dollar satellites to find Tupperware in the woods.  The hobby of Geocaching is a wonderful way to engage family members and friends into these hunts especially in our current virus environment and enjoy the great outdoors.  There is likely a Rotary Geocaching action group.  I love Harry and Sissy's comments about their adventures in seeing places not ordinarily on the 'tourist trail' due to their Geocaching.  What a creative idea!

Our speaker this week is Past RI President, John Germ so please plan to attend and demonstrate our support for John.  How awesome is it that we have a past RI President in our home town and a member of his family in our club.  Several of us attended the Atlanta RI conference and each time John walked out on the stage, the background music was 'Chattanooga Choo Choo'.

Your board voted to resume meeting in person on March 17 pending no further increased outbreaks of the virus.  RI and our District have advised our clubs to remain meeting via Zoom through the end of February in compliance with Governor Lee's Executive Orders.  Since our Pastor Event on March 10 is virtual, we will begin our in-person meetings on March 17.  Please remember to respond to Betsy's email so her Vocational Services Committee can send out the invitations to our Pastors for our March 10 Pastor Appreciation Event.

Please remember that 3rd quarter dues are due so please mail your checks to PO Box 25255, Chattanooga, TN  37422.  Our board reviewed a long list of delinquencies at last week's board meeting so please send your checks in soon.  We hope to have an online dues payment option available in the future.

When we resume meeting in person on March 17, we will continue with box lunches throughout this Rotary year.  Our Club Services Committee will manage the coordination of our lunch orders, set up and volunteer teams.  Bottled water will be provided along with the box lunches.  Club Services will assign teams and each team will consist of a board member along with our fellow Rotarians to assist with our lunch set up.  This will continue weekly through June 30 and gives everyone the opportunity to serve our club.  Please contact Roseanne or myself if you would like to volunteer.  We may use the same rotation as our weekly pledge and prayer and those folks will also assist with our food set up since they will be in attendance leading the prayer and pledge.  Please read the bulletin and contact a fellow Rotarian if you are unable to serve on your specified date.

The following is the Zoom meeting link for our club meeting.  If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.  Please note that a passcode is now required to access the zoom meeting for security purposes.

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Chris Neighbors or President Beverlee Bartley of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
