Dear Rotarian,

I hope you are enjoying this Labor Day Weekend.  The cooler weather has been wonderful, the Vols, Dawgs and Tide all started their seasons with a win - couldn't get much better than that!

I hope you enjoyed hearing from Dr. Sarah Lane last week.  Dr. Lane shared some of the activities that she is leading as the principal of Bess T. Shepherd Elementary.  She was very appreciative of the work that our club has done to make Bess T. a more welcoming place for the students.  She was also very grateful for the equipment that our club has provided through our district grant funding.  This week, we are scheduled to begin discussing with Dr. Lane the additional material that this year's grant will fund for Bess T.  Improving the lives of children in our community has been one of the goals of the Hamilton Place Rotary Club for many years and the work at Bess T. continues that tradition.

This week in our meeting we'll have a good time of fellowship with a "job speed dating" session led by our vocational service committee.  I always have enjoyed these times in the past.  It provides a great way to get to know one another better and to find out about the businesses represented in our club.  I hope you will be able to join.

The following is the Zoom meeting link.  If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Chris Neighbors or President Jim Glass of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
