This past week my family was in Colorado enjoying the weather and the fall colors. Fall is my favorite time of year and since we have never seen the aspens turn decided to experience it. Normally here in Tennessee we have colors change gradually with some areas having color and others still showing green. The mountains in Colorado were stunning in the brilliant shades of yellow and orange that in some places seemed consumed the whole mountain. When ever we travel in the US I am reminded of the diversity of our geography, the people and ways of looking at things.

Mark Twain said it best: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness… Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime”.

Of course, as all of you that travel experience, when you return it seems the list of tasks is overwhelming. I guess that is my excuse for not getting out my president's message last evening like normal.

This week we have David Martin from Heed PR speaking to us. Always interesting to listen and learn. I heard that last week Dr. Bruce gave an informative presentation on UTC and their vision for the future. Since my office is beside UTC for the last 30+ years I have watched their growth with interest.

We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Wednesday. Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
