Last week was a wonderful celebration and it was an honor to have our first annual First Responders Day. A special thank you to Alan Johnson and his committee. A separate thank you to Jeremy Dean and Southern Heritage Bank for helping to sponsor the event. As Rotarians we know with many hands that much can be accomplished.

This coming week I know many of you will be excited to hear from “Quake” about the upcoming season of football. Make sure you have your questions ready as that seems to be one of the highlights of his annual visit. A thank you to Tyler Spry for arranging his visit.

I am looking forward to hearing the details of the Welcome Home event last Thursday. I was unable to participate but have seen the photos and glad that everyone had a memorable experience. Sounds like our Community Service chair will have some good stories.

Soon we will be getting all the coats to distribute to schools in our footprint like we do every year. This year we will be asking more Rotarians to go to each school because we need to publicize what we do as Rotarians. I think a larger group will attract more attention as opposed to just one person.

This coming week we will have a check presentation and a short update on what we are doing with one of the grants, the one with Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.
