Hindsight
Each Hamilton Place Rotary member plays an integral part in the success of our club. One such person is Gale Williams. When I asked Gale to cover last week’s meeting she didn’t even hesitate to say “yes.” But what she didn’t tell me was that she would be on vacation because her son was being deployed in the military. Talk about personal sacrifice! Thank you, Gale, for your commitment to our club and please share our appreciation to your son for his service to our country.
Member feedback on Dana Perry’s presentation was very positive. I’m told Dana’s presentation was great and very helpful for a lot of our club members. Dana discussed the advantages of planning while the “skies are still sunny;” discussed strategies and considerations for accessing Medicaid benefits and VA benefits; outlined how often to review and update wills, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives; and discussed how making gifts can impact planning years later.

Looking Ahead
***CHANGE IN PLANS***
Due to a last minute commitment, Kevin Spiegel, President & CEO of Erlanger Health System will be unable to be our featured speaker this week. Not to worry! Don Mueller, CEO of Children’s Hospital and Bruce Komiske, VP New Children’s Hospital Design & Construction — who were already scheduled to speak in November — have graciously stepped up to fill in for Mr. Spiegel’s absence.
Did you know that 95% of the children diagnosed with cancer in our area receive their treatment at Erlanger’s Children Hospital? Most people think they go to St. Jude Hospital for these services. And While St. Jude’s has an exemplary research and treatment facilities, they only have 40 patient beds.
Mr. Mueller and Mr. Komiske will be sharing the vision of the “Believe Campaign” concerning the Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center, Phase I of an all-new Children’s Hospital.
