Rotary Hamilton Place Bulletin - September 6, 2017 (Sep 06, 2017)

Dear Rotarians,

Happy Labor Day everybody! I hope you all have been able to enjoy some rest and relaxation today in the way you enjoy most.

Last Wednesday we had the distinct pleasure to hear from Chattanooga's head football coach, Tom Arth. His message to his ball team after their loss to JSU was for each of them to focus on one thing each of them could do better. And if every player improved in only one area, how much better they will play each game. I told Coach Arth after the program that I thought I was in the locker room with him at times during his talk. After a week off, they are off to LSU to face the Tigers in what will be another incredible challenge for our Mocs.

In addition to a great program from Coach Arth, it was exciting to induct two more Rotarians to our lot! We welcome new Rotarians Sarah Aligo and Charlie Callari! I hope you will make a special effort to make them feel welcome and extend the hand of fellowship to each of them this week.

This week, Sheriff Jim Hammond will be our speaker. Recently, Sheriff Hammond made an announcement last week about plans to gradually reduce the number of prisoners at the County Jail as the expansion of the workhouse at Silverdale gets underway. His desire would be to see the jail on Walnut Street close within five years. It's always a good program when the Sheriff is with us. Make sure you plan to attend!
