Dear Rotarians,

I hope you were one of our club who made it to Bess T Shepherd School last week. I have heard nothing but amazing stories of the time you all spent there last week. I am so excited about our club partnering with them to help their school be better equipped to help the children who go there. In the next few weeks, we will have opportunity to work to fix, paint, plant, furnish and hopefully much, much more. Like you all, I'm excited about what our partnership will look like and where it will take the school and our club!

Tomorrow, we have one of my favorite meetings of the year when we celebrate our teachers. We, as a club will hold our Influential Educators Awards to five area teachers. Each will be presented to the club by students from each respective school! If there are men and women on the front-lines in the fight for our youth, it is certainly our teachers. Please come ready to express your thanks and appreciation to those awarded tomorrow. Much thanks to Bridgette Thurman and Steven Pike for their organization and leg work to make tomorrow happen.

Many of you have been aware of the frailty of Kari's mother in the past few weeks. I wanted to let you know that her mom passed away on Thursday last week. Kari is hoping to be at our club tomorrow and I know the family would appreciate our prayers. There will be a private burial service on Friday in Michigan.

Announcements:

• Golf tourney is May 16 - are you ready? One of our goals is for each member to secure at least one hole sponsor. Would you do everything you can to either find a company to sponsor a hole or personally sponsor a hole yourself? This is our signature event so let's leverage what we can to make the most of it! Who knows, it might just be a simple phone call or a visit with an old friend. Whatever the method, lets fill up our power point graph and make Tyler happy!
• Our monthly board meeting will be tomorrow after our meeting. If you need a make-up or would simply like to learn more about he business of the club, you are welcome to attend.
