Happy New Year as we start 2025. Hopefully we will have as many interesting speakers and programs as we had in the first part of my year as President. This week we will have Ron Zirk from Zirkops. Ron specializes in hand guns and self defense. It should be a very interesting program.

Congratulations to our new President Nominee, Mike Foos. He will be president in 2026-2027. Please give him as much support as you have given me. I know he will be a great president. In the meantime our President Elect, Brad Cansler, is putting together his board of directors for his term.

I hope many of you will be at this week's meeting as we have a topic to discuss which needs a club vote. Our District Governor, Rob Dansereau, has requested we have a club vote on some changes that occurred with the District Governor Nominee process for 2026-2027.   Alan Johnston will present the pertinent information so we can have an informed vote. I will be forwarding that information on to Rob. Thank you in advance for being there.

Technically, we should be having our January board meeting on Wednesday January 15th., the third Wednesday.  Since we just had one on December 18 I have moved this month's to January 22nd.  This will follow our Kickoff for our annual Golf Tournament.  The last Wednesday of the month, January 29th will be our Law Enforcement Recognition Day. The Vocational Committee has added the Collegedale Area to be included  this time. There will be 3 awards presented, Chattanooga Police Department,  The Sheriff's Department and Collegedale Police Department.  Please plan to attend so we have a good turnout for these brave men and women.  Proud to be a Rotarian!!  If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.
