Dear Rotarian,

I have sad news to share with our Club. I received word this morning that Bobby Parker passed away earlier today. When I receive information on his service, I will pass it along. My first brush with Bobby was before I was in Rotary - a number of years ago I was a guest and played in the Rotary Golf Tournament and we came in dead last - the prize was a $40 gift card to Parker's Brainerd BP Station! Bobby will be missed by our Club.

Reflecting on the Golf Tournament, please work to secure a hole sponsor. If you're already got one, push to get a second sponsor. As Alan reminded us last week, it is basically free money to help support our various projects. Also, be sure to sign up to volunteer on the day of the tournament.

If you missed this past Wednesday, we announced an upcoming work day on Saturday May 4 at Bess T. Shepherd School. We are going to repair a gazebo for them, and May 4 is demo day. We will announce re-construction day at another time, but if you can help please let Steve Germ know no later than May 1. We need at least 5 folks there to help.

This week our program will be Lee Helton, who is the Hamilton County Commissioner representing District 7. It should be a very informative meeting.
