Dear Rotarian,

Good Evening! Hope you've had a great weekend. It has been a beautiful weekend - cool mornings and sunny afternoons. Hard to beat that! It was also a great weekend for our college football fans. The Dawgs and UTC won big and the Vols and Tide won close games - I hope you enjoyed them all.

What a pleasure it was to hear from Linda Moss Mines last week. What a benefit for our community to have such a great historian of the Chattanooga area who is so passionate about history and the lessons we can all learn from it. We learned three interesting things about Chattanooga's history from her and we need to have her come back to hear the remaining two things that she has to teach us.

This week we will celebrate Veteran's Day at our meeting. Our military veterans have given so much for our freedom and our way of life. While we need to honor them all year long, I'm glad that we have a special day to recognize their sacrifice. We will hear from Lt. Colonel (Retired) Cliff Kent of the U.S. Army to help us reflect on the importance of this day in our country. Please plan to be there and invite a veteran to join you that we can honor at our meeting. If you plan to bring a guest, please let me know in advance so we can plan for meals accordingly.

As mentioned in our meeting last week, our club will plan to serve at the community kitchen on Thursday, Nov. 18. Stan Hildebrand will provide more details this week, but please mark you calendars to help with this event.

I look forward to seeing you Wednesday at our meeting, but if you need to join by Zoom here is the meeting link. If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.
