Hello $FIRST_NAME$!,

It was wonderful to see so many Rotarians last week to welcome our Kiwanis friends. A thank you to Chef Barry who had a good meal prepared for our guests and us.

A special thank you to David Elliott for creating and then leading the fun Rotary & Kiwanis quiz. I’m afraid I didn’t do too well on the quiz, as I followed along. I am sure that all of you enjoyed our special Christmas program performed by Stephen Humphries. Thanks Chris Neighbors! Always wonderful to listen to talented musicians who have put the requisite effort and time into becoming masters of their chosen musical expression.

Hard to believe this year has spun down to just the last couple weeks! It seems like it was just summer and tonight it is going to be cold! Hope everyone has wrapped their outside water faucets and if necessary left sinks dripping to prevent any freezing. I have been in my office for 31 years and last year for the first time had one bathroom freeze until the sun warmed the wall(no burst pipes). Tonight, I will leave the water dripping, a slightly larger water bill would be a whole lot cheaper than a plumber call and repair!!!

With all the shopping, visiting Christmas Markets, attending parties don’t forget that this season’s focus is really about sharing with others. Sharing gifts but also sharing connection, love and appreciation. Too often we get wrapped up in our own little worlds and forget to brighten as many people’s day as possible. Perhaps simply with a kind smile, a nice gesture, a moment of saying thank you for all you do. The Holidays are so hard for many emotionally and remembering to spread kindness is the Rotarian way!

Keep in mind that this Wednesday will be the last board meeting of the year. All are welcome to attend.  We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Wednesday. Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
