Hello !,

Soon the colors will be turning and I have heard from a couple sources that we should have good fall colors because we have had a decent amount of moisture. Last year it seemed that we had green and then mostly brown. I don’t know, we shall see. I have a large oak tree that is in my neighbor’s yard but almost half hangs over my yard. In the past I have typically gotten 30ish gallons of acorns. This year over 100 gallons. Maybe that means good fall colors and some have said it means a cold winter. Hmmm….

Last week Jay Greeson – Chattanooga Times Free Press shared some fun stories and information about his life. In Rotary not only do we have the opportunity to commit to serving our community, good fellowship and good food, we also get to have interesting and informative speakers. A shout out to those that have arranged our programming so far this year. Having speakers that are interesting and that share something either entertaining or valuable is appreciated.

Don’t forget to bring dry goods for the food drive that our own Warren Graber & Jennifer Franklin have arranged. If you have a stack of $100 bills(or 50s, 20s, 10s, etc.) laying around and need to get rid of them….  It is such a sobering statistic that so many people in our area are food insecure. Many of them, even if they have something to eat, are not getting good nutrition. Good nutrition helps them in school or on the job. Rotary’s focus on holistic help for our communities is something that brings long term benefits to all of us that live here.

This coming week we will be hearing from Baron Herdelin-Doherty CEO of Chattanooga YMCA. Having leaders of local organizations share their vision and how they are impacting our community helps us to be better informed citizens.

We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Wednesday. Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
