Dear Rotarian,

Good Morning!  I trust your week is off to a good start.

Thank you to Amy French of the Alzheimer's Association for educating us on the facts about this disease last week.  She did a great job of explaining the efforts underway to find its causes as well as to care for those who have been diagnosed with this terrible disease.  She also gave some advice to us about how best to prevent it for ourselves and our loved ones.  Remember - she said that social interaction is one of the ways to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's so your attendance at our Rotary Meetings is the first step to prevention for each of us!

Also, thank you to Alan Johnston for sharing a little about the history of the CARTS buckets - both nationally and for our club.  I hope you were able to purchase Alan's book entitled 'goodnight sweetheart.'  I've read the first five chapters and it's great!

This week will be a special time as we celebrate Valentine's Day at Rotary.  We'll all have fun as we play the "Not So Newlywed Game".  Please bring your spouse/significant other for a fun time.  Please let me know if you plan to bring a date so we can make sure we have plenty of food.

I hope to see you Wednesday at our meeting, but if you need to join by Zoom here is the meeting link.  If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Chris Neighbors or President Jim Glass of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
