Dear Rotarian,

The holiday season is upon us, and I trust everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with gratitude and great food!  This week is our Zoom Club Social scheduled during our regular meeting time at noon.  A Zoom link will be forwarded on Wednesday morning.   Please remember that this Friday, December 4, at noon is our joint meeting with the East Brainerd Kiwanis, and we are joining that meeting via Zoom at their request.  That link will be forwarded on Friday morning.

These are definitely unique times; however, I am thankful for Zoom which provides opportunities (Rotary Opens Opportunities) so that we can remain in touch and Zoom in our speakers as necessary.  December's Rotary theme is Disease Prevention & Treatment and Rick Carlson is our Program Chair.  At this time, we have two meetings scheduled in December - December 9 and December 16.  Our District Governor is encouraging clubs NOT to meet in-person during December and perhaps in January due to increased cases of the virus.  Thankfully, the space available to us through our relationship with Metro Tab allows us to appropriately social distance along with us wearing our masks; however, we want to exercise caution during this time. Your board is monitoring this closely and we will keep everyone updated.

We usually donate to the Forgotten Child Fund during our joint meeting with the Kiwanis, and we plan to continue that tradition either at one of our December meetings, or if we don't meet in person, we will forward that donation to Austin Garrett (Pam's husband) who is on the Forgotten Child Fund Board.

I look forward to seeing everyone during our Zoom social today!  Below is the Zoom link for today's Rotary Club Social at noon - see you then!

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Chris Neighbors or President Beverlee Bartley of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
