We have all heard the oft repeated phrase: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”. Last week we heard from Linda Moss Mines on the reasons, the drama and the aftermath of the Scopes Trial in 1925. Although I knew a lot of the story it was nice to fill in the blanks of my knowledge. Thank you Linda for your tireless efforts to educate us!

 

This coming week we have Ray Boaz from DH&W along with Tripp Mullins who will be sharing a vision for the future. They will be giving us information about the new Lookouts Stadium and the surrounding support structures and opportunities for offices, shops, dining and other boutiques.

 

Warren Graber our Community Services chair will do a short presentation on upcoming community service projects. Alan Johnson will hold a short Vocational Service Committee meeting after the regular meeting. David Elliott and Jim Glass co-chairs of the Membership Committee will also be having a short meeting. Other committee chairs are encouraged to do the same over the next couple weeks. In order to move our club forward it will require consistent action.
