This year, it is our turn to host the annual joint meeting with the Chattanooga Kiwanis Club. It is a great opportunity to meet and share fellowship with like-minded individuals from another service organization.
The theme of the meeting is to celebrate the holidays so expect great camaraderie, food, music and maybe a surprise or two. Let’s have a great turnout and give the Kiwanians a Rotary Club of Chattanooga Hamilton Place warm welcome!
P.S. On another note, please check the GraceWorks’ Angel Tree for remaining angels. The last time I looked, several remained for teenaged boys. I understand little children might be more fun to buy presents for, and in some cases easier. But in light of what happens in our community on a daily basis, these young men — still boys — need to be shown the power of love more than ever.
The requests I’ve seen aren’t asking for a Wii or Hover-board; they’re asking for a book, a football, maybe a bike and underwear. Every child deserves the dignity of owning his own underpants.
May God bless you & yours this season and in all of 2016.
