Hello !,

That was a great visit from Emerie Shontz and Lane Gutridge, President and Vice President of Chattanooga Roteract.  They have really soared with the Roteract program in our community and gave us a lot of information about Roteract that many of us didn't know.  I can see us all working together on forming other Roteract clubs and supporting each other on service projects!

This week we will be hearing from Tom Kale, who is the District Chair for Disaster Relief.  This is a topic that is very prevalent and an important part of being a Rotarian.  Tom is a past President of the Breakfast Club downtown who meet in Red Bank and husband to current President of Rotary Rocks, Jane Bowen.  He has been serving our community for a very long time and his presentation is sure to enlighten us!

Next week we will be visited by Cyndi Leach, a member of SPARC who is also a Polio survivor.  She has visited other clubs in our area educating Rotarians about Polio and sharing her story.  I look forward to hearing from such a strong leader!

A reminder that our food drive for Chattanooga Food Bank is underway!  Please help by bringing non-perishable foods to our meeting or to any of the boxes that Warren or Barry have placed around town.  Keep in mind that money is also accepted and, in fact, preferred since the Food Bank has buying power that most consumers don't have, thus, it goes farther.  Collections will be taken until September 30th.

Sign up sheets will be available the next two weeks for our service project at Welcome Home of Chattanooga.  It will be October 3rd from 9am to 12pm and we need several volunteers to help with adding outdoor lights (already purchased) as well as some gardening.  If you are able to make it, please bring tools and/or ladders.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and thank you for putting Service Above Self!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
