I hope you got to hear our excellent speaker last week. Jared Waldrop. He spoke about our drug problems.  As of 2022 101,195 people died from drug overdoses. Every 5-7 minutes someone dies . Neyland Stadium holds 107,000 so you would have to find 5000 seats or SRO just to accommodate that many OD's. The latest drug being abused is Fentynal that is cut with Xylazine. Xylazine does not respond to Narcan which is the newest drug to reverse drug overdoses . It's very effective but not with Xyazine. It's a very sad situation.

Our new sheriff, Dusty Dischler, fined several people for having their picture in the paper or a magazine. He will be here every month so , who knows what he will come up with to fine people! All things Rotary are fair game. Don't forget to wear your club pin or Paul Harris pin!

On Saturday, 5 Rotarians participated in a Rotary Vibrant workshop in Cleveland. We all learned new ways to make our club more Vibrant, appealing, and interesting to our members and guests. +Look for some ideas coming up at future meetings.

This week's meeting will be a Legacy Recognition day.  We have 4 current members in our club that were part of the original group in June of 1990. They plan to share their memories of "how things used to be" so you won't want to miss it.  In addition, August 28th is National Bow Tie Day and we are going to have a bow tie contest. There will be a prize for the best one for the ladies and one for the men.

We will have our August board meeting right after the regular meeting so please all board members plan to attend.  Proud to be a Rotarian!!!  If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.
