Dear Rotarian,

Last week's meeting was very informative as we learned about each other's vocations as well as some new opportunities. I loved learning more about each other and frankly would not have had the opportunity to hear everyone's story if we had met in person, so I continue to be thankful for our technology that allows us to meet virtually.

This week is our club's inaugural Law Enforcement Recognition Event! There has never been a more perfect time and opportunity to honor our law enforcement who also 'serve above self' as they serve our community. Please plan to attend so we can show our support and appreciation of our local law enforcement and the individual we are celebrating. Our guest speaker is Assistant Police Chief Danna Vaughn and our club is honoring Lt. Danny Jones during our program.

We have important club business to vote on this week so our meeting will begin promptly at noon and the voting will occur immediately after the prayer and pledge so please make every effort to attend timely. We will hold a virtual board meeting immediately after our club meeting and everyone is invited to attend.

GOOD NEWS POLIO UPDATE: ROTARY'S #1 PRIORITY - The Global Eradication of Polio.

Worldwide, the number of confirmed wild polio cases in calendar year 2020 now stands at 140, 84 occurred in Pakistan and 56 in Afghanistan. There were 176 cases worldwide in 2019. It's important to note that the CY 2020 number is still preliminary as reporting often lags by several weeks, but if it holds it will mark the first year over year decline in the number of polio cases since 2017.
