Dear Rotarian,

Saying thank you is often reserved until the end of someone's term, but I wanted to get started early with a few kudos to some of the folks who have helped make this an easy year thus far for me. First, our Sergeant-at-Arms Dennis Negron has been so faithful all year to assist with the set-up of our facility for our weekly programs, and the few times he has not been there, Mike Foos has stepped in make sure things are ready to go (which is one of about 14 jobs that Mike handles for Rotary). Next, Steve Germ has a true servant's heart as he has organized and participated in numerous community service activities. Dale Rardin goes above and beyond the call in having our A/V system set up every week. Finally, it would be impossible to take on the job of president if I couldn't lean on Kari Schultz for everything from preparation of minutes to emergency food purchaser.

We have had a fantastic run of programs and speakers in 2024, and I think that will continue this week when we hear from Kyle Wiens, the CEO of iFixit, who has relocated to Chattanooga and brought part of his Company's operations here as well. The following week, we will hear from County Commissioner Lee Helton.

Please put Saturday May 4 on your schedule, as we are going to do some construction at Bess T. Shepherd School. They have a dilapidated gazebo, and Steve Germ is going to lead a crew (and by a crew, I mean those of us who are willing to volunteer) in repairing the gazebo so it can again be used by the students. Please let Steve know if you can be there on the 4th.

Please plan to join us this week. If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.
