Good morning!

I’d like to start out by thanking Gale Williams for running the meeting in my absence last week – I truly appreciate it!  The July 8th meeting this week promises to feature great entertainment and a presentation by speaker Dan Hanson of Brassworks.  Learn more at: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/life/entertainment/story/2012/aug/10/jericho-brass-bands-brassworks-at-camp-house/84656/

An important reminder:  there are still spaces available to participate in our HP Club Visioning Event this Saturday, July 11th from 8:30-12:30 at the Business Development Center 100 Cherokee Blvd. 1st Floor Training Room.  Whether you are a founding member of our club or a relative newcomer, you possess a unique perspective of our club and your voice and opinion matter.  If you haven’t already responded, please RSVP ASAP to gcrumbliss@firstbankonline.com  as space is limited.  NOTE:  You must commit to the full 4 hours. Thank you!

Recently, I asked for your feedback regarding speakers.  Specifically:  Is there anyone/group/company/organization that interests you; is there a specific topic you want to learn more about; is there an area of business expertise that would benefit your company; do you like speakers who represent current events in our community, etc. The feedback was wonderful!   So, with that in mind, here’s who we have lined up:

Senator Bob Corker is on “stand-by” & plans to come!  He will give us a 4-6 week notice when he is available.
I encourage you to share this list of speakers with your peers, colleagues and people you think might be interested in hearing our speakers and learning more about HP Rotary.  If you are bringing a guest, it would be helpful to notify Vicki Anderson at vanderson@cbmtn.com no later than the Monday before the Wednesday meeting so she can coordinate the headcount with our caterer.

F.Y.I.  August is “Membership Month” and we will be conducting a membership drive (more info to come).  Our club’s projects positively affect people and children here in our community, across our nation and literally, the entire world!  We have a lot to be proud of but we still have a lot of work to do.  The more we can spread our message, the more successful we will be.  We don’t need “warm bodies” – we need people who are as passionate as Rotarians about creating positive change in the world and embodying “Service Above Self.”
I look forward to seeing you on Wedneday.  Have a great week!

As announced, our club is looking for more volunteers to sign up for the ironman event May 15-17. We have 5 people plus family members signed up so far.

There are spots opened for each area now. It also might be easy if everyone uses the below link and just comments in the "comment box" when they want to work. This is just a special open link and you don't have to search for all the Environmental areas. I have several groups doing the same. Some find using the common link harder and others easier.
