Hello !,

One of the many benefits of being a Rotarian is having interesting speakers and learning about companies, non-profits and organizations that impact our community. Last week I really enjoyed hearing from Baron Herdelin-Doherty the CEO of Chattanooga YMCA. Perhaps everyone else knew the history and trivia things he shared, I did not. Cool to learn that 4 sports originated at the YMCA, I only knew about basketball.

It will be interesting to hear the final tally for the food drive. Several of our members suggested that it might be a good idea to make this an annual event and a couple people had an idea to get other Rotary clubs involved. Together we can accomplish even more! It looked like many of our membership were generous with donations and know that the Food Bank will put the money to good use.

Last week I turned in the update on our District Grants to the district and soon we will be supplying warm coats to kids that need them. This year we want to make a concerted effort to be more visible when we deliver. We do great things but if we want to grow our club others need to be aware of the contribution they too can make by belonging to Rotary.

A quick thank you to the incomparable Mike Foos for covering for me  this week while I am out of town.  We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Wednesday. Have a great week and Be Proud to Be A Rotarian!!  If you can't join us in person, please join us by Zoom at the link below:
