Dear Rotarian,

Hope you had a great weekend. The weather was wonderful and the football results were great (for most of us). I enjoyed a round of golf yesterday afternoon at Bear Trace - we are so fortunate to have such a wonderful place for our club's annual fundraiser.

Speaking of fundraiser, we've made great progress in our Purple Pinkie Donuts campaign. We were over 150 boxes of donuts as of last week! Thank you to all who have purchased boxes. This is such a great way to raise funds for eradicating polio. This Wednesday is our last day to purchase in advance so please plan make your purchase if you have not already done so. And if you have already bought a few boxes you can buy a few more!

Last week, we heard from Brian Elrod of Text Request. He told us about his journey as an entrepreneur and the keys that are critical for success. From the practical aspects such as "keep it simple" and having a "scalable revenue model" to the more personal like "ethics matter" and (my favorite) "grit". I think we all could learn from his experience.

This week we'll hear about the Rotary Youth Exchange program from Bill Nichols. Bill is a member of the Farragut Rotary Club and is our District Youth Exchange Outbound Chair. I'm looking forward to hearing about the great experiences that young people have had through this great program.

The following is the Zoom meeting link. If you have difficulties in accessing the online meeting, please contact Dale Rardin at 423-605-6790 (cell) and he will assist you.
