President's Message

Dear Rotarian,

I hope your week is off to a wonderful start!  We had a great program last week from Ken Hartley, a John Maxwell Certified Leadership Coach.  Ken delivered an excellent message about leading those who don't want to be led.  There are also some of us who are still trying to find out how he shredded a newspaper right in front of our eyes, only to suddenly reform an unblemished copy.  Ken was an excellent speaker and a true "illusionist"!

In addition to a great program, we had the privilege of inducting another new member!  Alex Ratliff joins us from Haren Insurance Group where he specializes in employee benefit plans for small businesses.  I have attached a picture of Alex, so please be sure you introduce yourself and make him feel welcome!

This week we will hear from Patrick O'Hagan, who works as a Program Manager for Chattanooga State.  He comes to share the news of some great programs that are being offered for the students at Chattanooga State.  Chattanooga State is one of the two schools that we support with our scholarship program, which is nearing $500,000 in total scholarships!

One final item to note... mark your calendars for September 28th!  This will be the first of our workdays on the campus of Bess T Shepherd Elementary School.  Our work will be indoors painting their cafeteria and hallways, so need to worry about the hot sun!  Please notify myself or Stan Hildebrand (stan_hildebrand@comcast.net) if you can attend between 9:00-2:00.

See you Wednesday!

Volunteering to be part of our weekly rotation of being a Greeter or leading our club in Prayer and Pledge is a privilege and a responsibility.  If you have a Greeter or Prayer & Pledge assignment and are unable to serve, you are responsible for finding your replacement and notifying Craig Miller or President Tyler of the change.  Thank you for your club service.
