We finally are back in our own meeting place for two weeks, then more holidays!!! Last Friday we met with the East Brainerd Kiwanis Club at their meeting place, East Brainerd Church  of Christ. We had 25 Rotarians there which was terrific!!! We outnumbered the Kiwanians about  2:1. They had an outstanding speaker, Mr. Paul Cummings, who spoke about his journey recovering from aphasia, inability to speak, from a stroke. That is nearly impossible to get the degree of recovery he got but his speech was  excellent and he was very articulate. He had obviously worked very hard to get as much improvement as he has.

This week we have our Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest. I hope many of you have one to wear!!! Prizes will be given for the best male and female sweaters. Our speaker will be Charlie Rymer from McLemore Golf Club and the Keep. He is a former PGA player and is currently an executive V.P. at McLemore. As cold as it has been, thoughts of golf should be a warming sensation.

Next week, December 18, will be our last meeting of the year and our Christmas Party. We will not have a speaker and our Club Service Committee has some great entertainment planned. Spouses and/or significant others are welcome. Please let me know no later than the 11th if you plan to bring someone. Guest fees will apply for lunches; $17 per person. Right now we have about 10 guests coming and we have room for more.

See you all Wednesday!!  Proud to be a Rotarian!!  If you are not able to join in person please join us by Zoom.
