Rotary Hamilton Place Bulletin - December 9th, 2020 (Dec 10, 2020)

Dear Rotarian,

Last Wednesday, we had a great group at our Club Social and learned more about each other as we shared our favorite Christmas song and movie. It was so good to gather everyone together - without masks - and connect with folks who have been joining us via Zoom. In keeping with our District Governor's communication of strongly encouraging clubs NOT to meet during the month of December, we have decided to meet via Zoom for our December 9 and December 16 meetings. This week, Marc Cromie will join us via Zoom so let's be sure to have a strong attendance in support of Marc who so generously supports our club and especially our golf tournament each year. We will have Todd's quartet present a program later during our Rotary year so we will still have the opportunity to support and enjoy their amazing musical talents. Clue!

Many of you joined our annual joint meeting with the East Brainerd Kiwanis via Zoom. Our club is continuing our tradition of a $500 donation to the Forgotten Child Fund, and the check is being mailed to Austin Garrett who serves on the Forgotten Child Fund Board. Austin expressed his appreciation to our club for our support of the children and that organization. Our club is also making a Christmas gift donation to Terri our caterer.

We have two service projects coming up during December:

1) Saturday December 12: 8:30 - 12:00 Work in clothes closet at Community Kitchen. Must wear long pants, closed toe shoes and a mask.

2) Thursday December 17: Bethel Food Box Day. Need at least 4 volunteers for food shopping at 9 am at Food City in Hixson. Need 5 volunteers at 11:30 am at Bethel to pack 17 boxes.

-----Please contact Stan Hildebrand if you plan to serve at either of these opportunities, Stan can be reached at stan_hildebrand@comcast.net.

I am thankful that throughout the pandemic, our club has continued to serve our community.

Thank you!

Beverlee Bartley

2020-2021 Club President
