Rotary Club
of Defiance

Volume 1 | Issue 2

Find out what is happening in your club and who our upcoming presenters are.  There is always a lot going in our club and our community!
November is Foundation Month

The Defiance Rotary Foundation was founded in 1996 as a 501(c)3 not for profit for charitable giving.  Our club is responsible for running meetings, collecting dues, and fundraising.  All funds raised go straight into the Foundation and all charitable giving comes out of the Foundation.

The Foundation receives its funds from the Corvette Raffle, fines, 50/50 raffle, gifts from the club and donations from club members.  Club member gifts typically come in three forms:  periodic gifts based on our annual spending appeal or other voluntary gifts, commitments such as Friends of the Foundation, and special appeals such as Polio Plus.

To become a Friend of the Foundation a member pledges $1,000 to be paid over ten years or less.  Since 1996 members have contributed over $148,000 to the Foundation.  Currently there are 60 club members who have made the commitment but there has been little new activity in recent years.  It is time for us to regain our focus on the Foundation!

Ravens Care
Ravens is looking for volunteers to man their "Wishing Wells" in November and December for one hour shifts at Chief, Kroger and JC Penny.  Dates are going fast so if you are interested contact Katye at or 419-782-7141 for more information.
Thank you!
What a great job by our club supporting veterans through Operation K.A.V.I.C.  Thank you to the cooking and serving team.  As a Captain Sponsor and soup cook-off participant we helped to raise over $48,000 for veterans in need!
