Program Highlights

Join students from all over the world for this three-day event as you explore and learn about the history and culture of Vietnam. Although many westerners still imagine Vietnam through the lens of war, it is in reality a country filled with captivating natural beauty and tranquil village life.  Located in a region considered a cradle of mankind, Vietnam borders the Gulf of Thailand, Gulf of Tonkin, and Pacific Sea, alongside China, Laos, and Cambodia.  It is one of the earliest agricultural centres practicing wet rice farming, where the stone and metallurgical revolutions took place.  The S-shaped country has a lush tapestry of mountains, fertile deltas, forests, rivers, caves, rock formations, waterfalls and beaches.  Beyond nature, the curious and open-minded will find a feast of culture and history..  Workshop participants spend three days and two nights on the campus of Defiance College, interacting with DC faculty, staff, and students.
