A Healthcare Fix is Within Reach

Myles J. Schneider, DPM, grew up in the Bronx, New York City.  He received his undergraduate degree from New York University and his degree in podiatric medicine from the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine - formerly the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine.  He completed his specialty training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Kern Hospital for Special Surgery in Detroit, Michigan.  HIs special interests include podiatric sports medicine and biomechanics.  He currently practices at the Annandale Foot and Ankle center in Annandale, Virginia, and has been in private practice for forty-eight years.     

In the past few months, he has been on over 70 radio, podcasts and television shows nationwide, talking about his latest book - Restoring "Health" to Healthcare.

He is the author of "To Be or Not To Be Healthy - For Most of Us This is a Choice", MJS Publishing, LLC, Reston, VA.  2009.

He has also co-authored several books with Mark D. Sussman, DPM, including:

His books have been excerpted in many magazines and newspapers, including: "Mc Calls", "Prevention Magazine", "The Working Woman", "The New York Times", "The Washington Post", "The Journal Papers" amongst others.  He has written articles for various national magazines including "Shape", "Runners World" and "Running Times".  He has been written about in "People Magazine" and has appeared on local and national radio and television shows, including: "The Larry King Radio Show", "The Phil Donahue Show", "Morning Break", "P.M. Magazine" and "The Regis Philbin Lifestyle Show".

Outside of Podiatry, he has been a marathon runner and fitness enthusiast all his adult life.  Over the years he has lectured and written about the causes and treatment of common foot problems, podiatric biomechanics, podiatric sports medicine, and athletic injuries in the lower extremities.  In addition, he has devoted a lot of time to writing and speaking about health and wellness with an emphasis on the importance of being proactive about and self-responsible for one's own health.  He has resided in Reston, Virginia, since 1974, and gets special joy playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family and close friends.
