Being useful ahead of BC Family Literacy Week...
With being unable to hold any of our usual fundraising events since February 2020, we were at a loose end coming into the new Rotary year so, since July, we've tried to perform some kind of community service.

This month, January, it was the turn of Literacy Quesnel who, ahead of BC Family Literacy Week, had a pile of tasks to complete. Seven of us completed said tasks, saving them upwards of 14 hours.

Many thanks for the Tim's coffee and donuts - caffeine and sugar...clever move!

First of all...coffee and donuts aka caffeine and sugar. Good move, Lacey!

Lacey: "Every book needs a label, please"
Linda: "Can we move the boxes?"
Lacey: "Those are books needing labels"
Liz: "Bahahahahahahahaha!"

Lacey: "OK: storyboards. These laminates need to be taped to the chloroplast boards, please"
Us: "What about the display holders on the River Walk Trail"
Lacey: "We can't get to them - the trail is closed because of the ice jam"
Us: "Oh...righhhttt"

Linda Turner, Sheila Pritchard, President Bev Haluschak, Liz Neave, and Kathy Somerville put together the Literacy/Numeracy bags.
No boys allowed!

Looks like Simon Turner is either giving Rick Prosk a manicure or amputating his finger. Either way, Rick does not want to look!

Job done: Two sets of Literacy/Numeracy bags stuffed with age-appropriate number games and puzzles.

Job done: three full stories, ready to go on display (probably at West Fraser Timber Park)

Job done: One more set of Literacy/Numeracy bags stuffed with age-appropriate number games and puzzles. These might be the ones containing a cake mix and baking instructions...
