Guest Speaker March 6, 2014 - Gary Paulson

March 6, 2014 ~ At this past Thursday’s meeting, club members had the opportunity to listening to Captain Gary Paulson, the Vice President of Operations and Harbour Master of the Prince Rupert Port Authority.  Gary joined the Prince Rupert Port Authority team in September 2006 after spending 29 years in the Royal Canadian Navy.

His operations department is responsible for the Port’s Harbour Master functions, oversight of all marine and land based operations, port security and emergency preparedness and the Port’s environmental stewardship programs.

Along with an interesting picture presentation, Gary gave an update on the future plans of Prince Rupert’s container port and Ridley Island’s two proposed LNG plants.   

He also talked about the Prince Rupert Port Authority Harbour Operations Practices and Procedures Manual and the draft Port Information Guide.
