March 14, 2013 – Today’s guest speaker was Sandy Pond, the Principal of Pacific Coast School in Prince Rupert.  Also known as Su Sita’atk, meaning “a new beginning”, the school offers ‘at risk’ students a safe and welcoming place to complete their grade twelve.

With 100 students on the roster, including 20 seats for adult students, they develop a Personal Education Plan for each student that meets the Provincial requirements for graduation.   The students have the opportunity to do their studies full time, part time or off site with the support of ten staff members.  For more information on this valuable program, go to www.sd52.bc.ca/pcs.
