August 22, 2013  ~  Today’s guest speaker was Trevor Murdock from Prince Rupert Constructors (PRC).  As the Safety Officer, Human Resources Officer and Trainer, Trevor talked about the $90 million project the company began on Ridley Island on February 1st this year.  The construction of an eight kilometer loop of five rail tracks, a two-lane road and port-owned hydro lines, the result will be opening up 400 hectares of industrial land on the island for projects like the Canpotex potash terminal and BG Group LNG export terminal.

It is PRC's preference to hire and train locally and Trevor discussed the future need for Heavy Duty Equipment Operators, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Surveyors, Project Coordinators, Engineers, Tradesmen and Safety/First Aid personnel on the North Coast.
