Dozens of students, primarily but not exclusively, from Prince George are taking part in an adventure. It’s an Adventure in Forestry and Environmental Studies program, put on by the Yellowhead Rotary. It’s one of many pulled together by different rotary clubs across the country.
Over the course of four days, the students will pay visits to a sawmill, a tree nursery, a pulp mill, the air tanker base, the Wood Innovation and Design Centre, CNC and UNBC to sample all of the different aspects of the industry.Roughly 700 students have gone through the program since it started locally in 1990
