Tri Club Foundation Dinner
Sue Calder and Harold Spensley were recognized for their contributions to Rotary with donations to their favorite charities. Gerry Knechtel, Mike Tkachuk and John Grey were presented with Paul Harris Fellows recognizing their hard work and dedication to the Centennial Gazebo at UNBC. We had a speaker who is a polio survivor (sorry I don't recall her name) who told us her story how her and a brother became infected with Polio when they were children and what a dramatic and horrible experience it was. She also told us how in her later years it has come back to afflict her and she will have many health problems as a result. She considers herself one of the lucky ones because she lived and many didn't.
The entertainment was by Dawn Boudreau who played electric piano and sang beautiful reception and dinner music for us followed by 10 of her students performing songs including my daughter Carly making her debut both playing guitar and singing. Following the students was a magic show by William the Conjurer which was simply very magical and funny. Thanks to Gerry Knechtel who retrieved my panty's back after William magically removed them.
