This is a letter from one of the students we sponsored for the Adventures in Forestry that the Yellowhead Club puts on every year:
Dear Toni,
I apologize for this taking me some time to get to you. This past month and a bit has been quite busy with school getting assignments finished and handed in as well preparing for final exams.
I would like to say thank you to everyone involved in the Adventures in Forestry program for letting me come and enjoy the activities & tours that we went to. Before I took part in this program I thought that I had a fair bit of knowledge of forestry with having my dad involved in wood products, and all that it had to offer. Well, was I wrong in that! I apparently didn't know half of it.

I learned lots about how wildlife and how forests help certain kinds of animals.
My favourite two things that we did was seeing the PG Sawmill (my dad was the Plant Manager there until May 4th before being transferred to Vanderhoof) so that was interesting getting to see where he had went to work every day, I was surprised how clean it was compared to the pulp mill and also learning more about forest fires at the airport attack base. The one part that I didn't like as much in the tours was learning about the rivers and doing water level calculations, that part just didn't click with me.
After attending the sessions I am still unsure what I would like to do after I am finished high school but some of the forestry stuff we saw will be options for me to definitely consider in the future.
I had a great time and met some nice people. Thank you again for allowing me to participate.
