Our meetings are now at 5280 Burger Bar, 7032 Wood Hollow Drive, Austin, Texas 78731.
About Lizzie & Micah,
Lizzie has been an active EWB volunteer since 2011, as a freshman in the SMU student chapter. At SMU, she participated in several projects, including as project lead for the Rwanda project in 2014 and as a travel team member for the Bolivia project in 2017. Her master's research was conducted on water and soil samples from the EWB SMU partner community in Bolivia. Since 2019, Lizzie has served in many roles for the Greater Austin Chapter, including project design and travel team member, web administrator, fundraiser, and chapter president. During the summer of 2022, she traveled with the EWB team to Biharu, Tanzania to visit the partner community. Outside of volunteering with EWB, Lizzie works in the public works group of BGE, an engineering consulting company. She enjoys being active, including tennis, and is in the throes of planning her wedding that will take place next year!
Micah made his first EWB trip to Tanzania in August 2022. He served as a Health and Safety Officer and primary photographer while abroad. He enjoys storytelling and uses his field experiences to raise awareness and project capital for EWB Greater Austin. Micah is currently employed as a Device Engineering Technician at NXP Semiconductors Oak Hill Fab in the Integrated Circuit Device Engineering Group. He is also a volunteer EMS professional at the Oak Hill Fab and enjoys continuing education in emergency medicine. In his free time, Micah has been learning songs on the guitar by Townes Van Zandt and John Prine, and he has recently rediscovered the joy of listening to Paul Simon.
